With a first place in Majorettes and a first place in Percussion, the Catoctin-Aires once again
has captured the Grand Championship title-under the sanction of the Capital Area Marching Association.
This adds to the earlier earned 2014 titles of Advanced marching corps for N.B.T.A. Md. State Championships and the Mid-Atlantic Championships as well.
In a unanimous agreement of all three judges, the group also earned the Jr. and Sr. Pom Team C.A.M.A. title wins after the corps had earned the State and Regional N.B.T.A. titles earlier in the year.
In addition, C.A.M.A. championship title wins included:
A complete shut-out of all majorette sections and leaders, bringing the corps to earn the coveted first place Majorette award.
Specially recognized for first place wins were also the corps' two Complimentary Units, earning first and second place and the Tiny Tot first place win.
With a brand new Percussion section, the corps was proud to march a drum line of four players, earning the first place trophy for the beginner percussion division.
Each event the corps entered through the championship event, earned the Catoctin-Aires a first place win!
Congratulations to all members of the corps and thanks to the support groups behind each and every twirler.
Thanks to all of the Catoctin-Aires staffers and coaches for diligent hard work and perseverance. Coaches for the corps are: Donna Landsperger, Kelly Reed, Angela Ridenour, and Risa Jewell. Assistant staff coaches include Caitlyn Purdum and Paula Jean Sharrer.
